How does UV protect your family?
We’ve all heard of ultraviolet radiation. The sun’s UV rays are the reason we put on sunscreen and a hat when it’s sunny out.
There are three UV frequencies present in sunlight. These are UV-A, B, and C.
UV-C is not naturally in abundance in Earth’s atmosphere as it is filtered out by the ozone layer.
Our UV sanitizing products emits UV-C only, the strongest UV frequency, and the only one which is effective as a sanitizer.
It’s like a deathray for microscopic nasties!
Our UV Sanitizing Wand will sanitize any surface against 99.9 percent of pathogens, including viruses, bacteria, even mould and fungus spores.
Is it safe?
Used correctly, UV-C sanitizing, also known as ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) is perfectly safe.
However, it is important not to point the light toward skin or eyes as it can cause irritation and in extreme cases, permanent damage.
What can I sanitize with UV?
Anything non-living, and anything you don’t want to mess up with alcohol or chemical-based sanitizers.
Our UV-C lamps can be used safely and without fear of damage on household items such as phones (these are absolutely riddled with nasties!), keys, cash, toys, computers, and so on.
It’s also perfect to keep in your purse or glove compartment for when you’re out and about, including toilet seats, restroom faucets, doorknobs, cutlery, glassware, shopping carts, airline or subway furniture, park benches, motel room facilities, such as remote controls.
You’d be shocked to know how densely infected with pathogens shared and public objects can be!
How do I use a portable UV disinfection unit?
Make sure your unit is fully charged.
Hold the unit as close as possible to the item you are disinfecting. The closer it is, the more effective it will be. Half an inch is ideal.
Move the wand slowly over the item until it has been exposed for 20 seconds.
